Yajurveda Upakarma: Renewing Traditions

Mysuru/Mysore: The Hebbar Sri Vaishnava Sabha organized a special program at Sri Rama Mandira in Krishnamurthypuram, where Brahmins participated in traditional rituals like changing their sacred threads and chanting the Gayatri Mantra, known as ‘Yajurveda Upakarma’. On behalf of the Mysore District Brahmin Yuva Vedike, books on Sandhyavandana and Bhagavad Gita were distributed freely to interested individuals.Speaking at the event, Sri Tirumalachar of Hebbar Sri Vaishnava Sabha urged everyone to lead meaningful lives filled with good deeds and avoid wishing harm upon others. District Brahmin Yuva Vedike members, including General Secretary Vikram Iyengar, Organizing Secretary Ajay Shastri, Kadakol Jagadish, Prashanth Bharadwaj, Rangan K. Iyengar, Venkatesh, Dr. Kamala Raman, Nirmala, Madhurao, and others, were present.Meanwhile, the Havyaka Sangha and Mysuru Havyaka Parishat collaborated on a similar program at Havyaka Bhavan. Guided by Dr. Suresh Hegde, members performed their own rituals, reaffirming their cultural heritage. Havyaka Sangha President L.N. Hegade and others graced the occasion with their presence.Both events showcased the vibrant traditions and values cherished by the Brahmin and Havyaka communities in Mysore, offering an inspiring message of spiritual renewal and social responsibility.
